The Monti's 4th Annual Hippo Awards.  On this night, we celebrate the best stories told in 2011 in three categories: Comedy, Drama and Overall.  The Monti's Board of Directors listen to all of the stories told in 2011 and nominate the best in every category.  Then it's up to the fans to vote for their favorites.  Hippos will be awarded at the Hippo Awards show on February 9th.  In addition to the award show, we will feature five new stories from fabulous storytellers.

About The Monti:

The Monti is our original and signature format.  It debuted in Chapel Hill on April 22, 2008 to a SOLD OUT crowd in a private room upstairs at Spice Street.  Typically, there are five storytellers for every show, and tellers are invited in advance to tell stories.

There are four requirements that all stories must follow:

1. All stories are true.
2. All stories are told without the use of notes.
3. All stories adhere to the twelve minute time limit.
4. All stories must revolve around a predetermined theme.
