Teacher, Writer, & Comedian
Abby is a teacher, writer, world traveler and comedian (not necessarily in that order). Born in Brooklyn and raised in Baltimore, Abby graduated from Goucher College with a degree in writing. She wrote features and reported news for many years for The Baltimore Sun. Winning a Fulbright Fellowship to work in New Zealand opened her eyes to the excitement of international travel. After exploring Southeast Asia, she lived for several years in a Buddhist meditation center in Thailand. Abby moved to Greensboro in 1994, earning a Master of Education degree from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro. She currently teaches math and improvisational acting at The American Hebrew Academy. Abby began her comedy improv career six years ago, and currently performs with FatMouth Improv in Durham.
