Executive Director of The Monti

Jeff Polish has spent most of his adult life at a research bench in a genetics lab while earning a Ph.D. from Washington University in St. Louis; after which time, he decided to pursue teaching. Jeff started The Monti in April 2008 because he loves hearing personal stories from interesting people and would like to bring this love to a wide audience. Jeff is a frequent contributor to WUNC and regularly submits stories told live at The Monti for broadcast. Jeff has also used his expertise in storytelling and communications to consult with organizations like TEDMED and Fhi 360. He has recently been profiled in Science, Our State Magazine and Garden & Gun. Jeff lives in Chapel Hill with his wife, Allison, and sons Jackson, Dillon and Maddox.
